Forget the BBB - complain to the Nebraska Attorney Generals office!
my husband ordered a gift box for ourselves on sale. this included a few steaks, some porkchops, and potatoes, as well as a cutting board and cutlery set.
when we got the box in the mail, i couldn't help but laugh - the servings of meat were tiny and looked like someone took some mcdonald's hamburger patties and stuffed them into some plastic wrap. seriously hysterical.
then we noticed that the cutlery set was missing, although our order sheet indicated that we were supposed to receive one in our package, i.e. there was no indication that perhaps a second shipment was on its way.
i tried calling customer service and sat on hold, in total, for probably nearly three hours. seriously, dialed the customer service number and left my phone on speaker while at my job working.
nobody ever answered.
so, i sent an email to their customer service asking about the cutlery set and demanding they either send us a refund for the cost of the set or just send the dang set.
i got an email from their customer service department fairly quickly (probably because I threatened to send a consumer complaint to the Nebraska Attorney General's office) saying that they apologized for the mistake, but offered to send us a $20 gift card instead of the cutlery set. i wrote back and said, NO, we paid for the cutlery set, we want the cutlery set. or a refund. that's all we will accept.
have not heard back yet, but i am not optimistic.
100% guaranteed - yeah right. you're guaranteed to get conned into buying some really disgusting food.
The only way to fight scammers like this is to file a complaint at the State of Nebraska's Attorney General site. You can file a Consumer Complaint, reporting shady business practices. Nothing will be done against these shady businesses unless you go to the place that gives them their business licenses - in this case, the State of Nebraska.
These people have been scamming and stealing money for years. Its a shame.
